“Photographing wherever I happen to be” is accurate as I tend to move around a lot.
I grew up in the Canadian prairies, but since the age of 20 I’ve called many places home. I’ve lived everywhere from a tent in a forest to big city apartments to a hotel in a jungle. That’s not even counting the mobile abodes (vans/cars/station wagons) that I’ve called home.
I took up (non smartphone) photography in 2016, and it immediately became one of my favourite things (along with travel, hiking and using parenthesis). When you have a memory as weak as mine, photographs help keep the moments alive.
I have an immense passion for photographing the area I grew up in -Beechy, Saskatchewan. I recently spent six months on my family ranch, documenting the animals and the land that I was lucky enough to grow up exploring. I got to photograph the places I spent time as a kid, some of my family members on the land they call home, as well as a few of the activities around the area that I grew up watching (like barrel racing). One of my favourite things is to photograph horses and the people that love them. Take a look a my horse portraits if you feel like :)
So, to wrap it up, here are my photographs; from the Canadian Rockies and Prairies to African Deserts to Pacific Oceanscapes; the land, animals and people of rural Saskatchewan; and wherever I’ve set foot in between. I hope you enjoy!
